National Pastry Demo Program Has Well-Rounded Cast of Chefs

A couple of new faces will join PreGel’s 5-Star Pastry Ambassador Program this year. The program features four prominent pastry chefs who are responsible for presenting a minimum of two technical product demonstrations a year in the regions they represent. The purpose of the 5-Star Pastry Ambassador Program is to inspire new ideas for chefs and offer real solutions to the challenges they face.

New to the program are Ron Paprocki, the 2010 StarChefs.com International Pastry Competition winner, and Jerome Landrieu, who is also a 5-Star Pastry Chef. Paprocki will serve as the Northeast Ambassador, and Landrieu will handle the Midwest. The program will retain Laurent Branlard as its Southeast Ambassador and Michael Gillet as its West Coast Ambassador. PreGel AMERICA is very excited about the additions of both Chefs Landrieu and Paprocki to the 5-Star Pastry Ambassador Program and 2011’s well-rounded group.

“We are pleased to have such a great lineup of pastry chefs as our 5-Star Pastry Ambassadors,” said Frederic Monti, Corporate Chef, PreGel AMERICA. “They really represent the gamut of types of chefs in the industry, and aligning with them for regional demos will benefit both PreGel and other chefs in their areas.”

Paprocki is an up-and-coming chef in New York and works as the executive pastry chef at the Gordon Ramsay at the London. Landrieu is the head of Barry Callebaut’s Chocolate Academy in Chicago. Laurent Branlard is the only two-time World Pastry Champion and works as the executive chef at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel, and Chef Michael Gillet is currently the corporate pastry chef of the Sugar Factory in Las Vegas, NV. The Sugar Factory is known for its line of Signature Series Couture Lollipops and making candy exciting, fashionable and collectible.

5-Star Pastry Ambassadors are carefully selected by PreGel AMERICA based on the needs of the regions they represent. They are industry professionals that have versatile talents and achievements, and a strong commitment to the overall elevation of the industry. The program represents PreGel AMERICA’s ongoing dedication to education and creating positive synergies throughout the pastry industry to ensure that the craft continues to remain strong and flourish.

The 5-Star Pastry Ambassador Program has not released its 2011 demo schedule, but the first demo is tentatively scheduled for April on the West Coast. The program is geared toward pastry chefs who are looking to learn new techniques, gain valuable tips, try new products and test new recipes.
