Tree-Talk: 5-Star Chef Series Kicks Off Its First Year with Masterful Pastry Creations

Chefs

2009 marked the beginning of a new educational series for the world of pastry called the 5-Star Chef Series. The series of exclusive seminars featured some of the most current world-class pastry chefs: Laurent Branlard, Dimitri Fayard and Stephane Treand. Focusing on their respective specialties, chefs Branlard, Fayard and Treand each led a three-day class of highly accomplished pastry chefs from across the country from well-known resorts and businesses such as the Ritz Carlton of Orlando and Fontainebleau, Miami. The result of the first three series was nothing less than amazing as the 5-Star Chefs and their class attendees executed show-stopping sugar and chocolate showpieces under chefs Branlard and Treand, and a wonderful French pastry buffet layout with Chef Fayard.

The esteem for the series was echoed by many of the attendees:

“I had the privilege to participate [in the] first class of the 5-Star Chef experience … the kitchen is what all chefs will dream about: top-of-the-line equipment, large, clean and well designed,” said Eric Bilodeau, Corporate Pastry Chef, Norwegian Cruise Line. “It was a fabulous experience. The class was presented by Laurent Branlard who couldn’t be better represented, the students were top quality, and PreGel made us feel at home the first day.”

Chefs Branlard, Fayard and Treand will return in 2010 to teach additional seminars and renowned chefs such as Jean-Pierre Wybauw, Stephane Glacier, Norman Love and Olivier Bajard will also host 5-Star seminars at PreGel’s training facility.
